
Rockford remains hot with three more wins

The Rockford IceHogs train keeps chugging along. The red hot IceHogs earned three more wins during Week 18 and after its offense took centerstage for the past several weeks, it was the defense and goaltending that shined this time around. Three more games loom for the IceHogs in Week 19, including a pair with the pesky Quad City Mallards.
Wednesday, Feb. 7: Rockford IceHogs 6 at Bloomington PrairieThunder 1
Friday, Feb. 9: Flint Generals 1 vs. Rockford IceHogs 2 (SO)
Saturday, Feb. 10: Muskegon Fury 1 vs. Rockford IceHogs 5
Transaction:
-Winger Paul Brown was activated from the 21-Day Injured Reserve on Friday, Feb. 9
-Winger Jesse Bennefield was loaned to the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) on Satuday, Feb. 10
-Defenseman Dan Boeser was activated from the 14-Day Injured Reserve on Saturday, Feb. 10

Rockford has a season-high five game-winning streak.
The Hogs tied a club record on Saturday by winning its seventh straight game at home.
Center Preston Mizzi tied a club record on Saturday as well, collecting a point in his 12th-straight contest.
During Mizzi's stretch, the Hogs leading scorer has piled on 13g-15a-28pts.
Winger Bryce Cockburn has a 10-game point streak in which he has accumulated 3g-12a-15pts.
Goalie Frederic Cloutier allowed just one-goal in each of the IceHogs three wins in Week 18.
Defenseman Tim Wedderburn notched his first goal in over two years on Saturday night.
Winger Jason Ralph netted career goal 100 on Saturday against Muskegon.
With Ralph in the line-up this season, the IceHogs are 12-0-1.
Rockford tied a team record on Friday night when they held the Flint Generals to just one shot on goal in the third period.
After going nearly a whole year without a shootout win, Rockford won two shootouts in eight days.
After Saturday's home game against the Quad City Mallards, the IceHogs will play 10 of its next 12 contests on the road.
Hot Hog Week 18:
It's hard to believe, but for the fourth-straight week center Preston Mizzi is the hottest Hog and is the club's nomination for the UHL's Player of the Week. Mizzi totaled 3g-3a-6pts in the IceHogs three wins in Week 18. The centerman began the week with a hat-trick against Bloomington and added an assist against Flint on Friday and two helpers against Muskegon Saturday.
Upcoming Games:
Wednesday, Feb. 14 at Quad"ËCity Mallards. The rivalry resumes at 7 p.m. Rockford returns to the MARK"Ëof the Quad"ËCities to battle the arch-rival Mallards. The game is the first of two between the Western Conference opponents in Week 19.
Friday, Feb. 16 vs. Chicago Hounds. Game time is 7:30 p.m. The Hogs ands Hounds meet up once again at the Rockford MetroCentre. The first 1,000 fans to the game will pick up an IceHogs Draw String Bag from Power Connection.
Saturday, Feb. 17 vs. Quad"ËCity Mallards. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. One of the fiercest rivalries in the UHL"Ëreturns to the MetroCentre. The Hogs and Mallards face-off for a second time in four days and the first 1,000 kids 12-and under will receive an IceHogs replica youth jersey from Feldco Windows, Siding and Doors.
HogTalk Returns This Week At Shooter's North:
Bud Light HogTalk returns this week at Shooter's North. The show is hosted by WXRX's Jim Stone and Double T and tonight will feature IceHogs skaters Nathan Lutz and Jason Ralph. The show runs from 7-8 p.m. and also features IceHogs Head Coach Steve Martinson. Come on out and talk IceHogs hockey and take advantage of some Bud Light specials at Shooter's North.
