Kalamazoo Wings News Release

The K-Wings will be looking to end a four game winless streak tonight as they travel to Port Huron to battle the Beacons. Besides trying to end their winless streak, Kalamazoo will also try to end their drought against the Beacons. Kalamazoo has lost their last four encounters against Port Huron, including three this season.

Kalamazoo's Joe Ritson has flourished with his new team. In his first three games with the K-Wings, Ritson has scored 2 goals and has added an assist. While Ritson's three game scoring streak is impressive, so is the streak of Andrew Luciuk, who has registered a point in each of his last 11 games.

In the past three weeks, the Beacons have found themselves climbing up the standings in the Eastern Conference. The Beacons are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games and enter tonight in third place in the Eastern Conference, just 6 points out of first place. Port Huron is led by all-star forward Brent Gretzky, who leads team in scoring with 45 points. Besides leading Port Huron, Gretzky's 45 points also places him in a tie for 5 place in the UHL for scoring.

K-Wings forward Tim Turner has had no problem adjusting to professional hockey. Turner is currently tied for 8th among UHL rookies in scoring with 18 points. Tim is also fifth among rookies with 14 assists.
