Countdown to Face-Off Kalamazoo Wings Vs Fort Wayne Komets Wings Stadium Kalamazoo, MI Friday, November 21, 2003
Game Preview After finishing a four game road swing, the K-Wings will continue rivalry month at Wings Stadium tonight as they host their arch rivals the Fort Wayne Komets. This will be the third meeting between the teams this season, with the K-Wings holding the advantage over the Komets with a record of 2-0-0, including a 6-nothing shutout victory at Wings Stadium on November 1st.
Fort Wayne enters the week in fifth place in the Western Conference with a record of 3-6-1 (7 points), while the K-Wings are in fourth place with a record of 5-4-0 (10 points). The first 1,000 people into Wings Stadium tonight received a FREE mouse pad courtesy of NJB Office Products, Kalamazoo Regional Chamber of Commerce, WKMI, Business Direct Weekly, Fifth-Third Bank, and Centennial Wireless.
Kalamazoo will try to snap a season high two game-losing streak. The K-Wings are led by Yannick Carpentier and Chad Alban. Carpentier leads the K-Wings in both goals (6) and points (9), while Alban holds the second lowest goals against average in the UHL at 2.38.
Tonight, the K-Wings will see a different Komets teams than the team they battled back on November 1st. The main difference for the Komets is between the pipes with Kevin St. Pierre. Since being activated from the injured reserve list, Kevin has rejuvenated the Komets going 2-1-0 in three appearances. The main offensive threats for the Komets are Michel Massie, Kelly Perrault and Dan Price. Massie leads the Komets in scoring with 11 points and is tied with Perrault in assists with 7, while Price is a player that can explode offensively on any given night.

New Streak Record Each Game Komet defenseman Kevin Schmidt continues his appearance streak started when he joined the Komets for the 2001-02 season. Schmidt has skated in 172 consecutive games and has not missed a regular season or playoff game since his first game with the Komets Oct. 12, 2001, at New Haven.
