The Prince George Cougars downed the Kelowna Rockets 2-1 on Tuesday night at Prospera Place.
The Rockets could not get the power play going, they were shut down all five times on the night and allowed a short-handed goal-the eventual game-winner.
Koehn Ziemmer (7) scored the lone goal of the first period.
Connor Bowie (7) gave the Cougars a two-goal cushion with a short-handed tally 5:23 into the second period.
Mark Liwiski (9) pulled the Rockets within one with 4:22 to play in the game.
Rockets goaltender Cole Schwebius turned aside 16 of the 18 shots fired on him, while Taylor Gauthier stopped 29 of 30.
The Cougars were also unsuccessful on their power play, with the Rockets killing off three chances
Kelowna outshot Prince George 30-18.
The Rockets record is now 8-3-1-0.
Noah Dorey, William Irvine, Steel Quiring, Ethan Ernst, Jackson DeSouza and Nicholas Cristiano were the Rockets scratches.
Lloyd Waddell was the winner of the online 50/50, taking home $262.50 of the total pot of $525 with the winning ticket number F-1708678.
Kelowna is back in action on Friday when they'll head to Kamloops to take on the Vancouver Giants, puck drop is set for 7:00 pm.

As the WHL returns to play in the WHL Hub Centers in Kamloops and Kelowna, no spectators will be permitted to enter Sandman Centre or Prospera Place.
