Cougars Announce Grand Opening of Newly Branded Team Store

GENEVA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars are opening their newly branded team store for pre-season hours. The Cougars Den Team Store presented by DeVry University will be open for Cougars fans prior to Opening Night. Other than the online pre-sale for t-shirts featuring the new logo at the conclusion of 2015, April 1 will be the first time Cougars fans have the opportunity to peruse and purchase new apparel, gear, accessories, and other items with the Cougars' new colors and visual identity.

The newly branded Cougars Den Team Store presented by DeVry University will open its doors for the first time on April 1 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Fans can visit during additional specialty hours on the following dates and times: Saturday, April 2 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Monday, April 4 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Tuesday, April 5 from 11 AM to 6 PM; and Wednesday, April 6 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The Cougars Den Team Store will be open during Cougars home games throughout the 2016 season.

The online store, which can be accessed through the Cougars' website at kccougars.com, currently has select items available. Additional product will be added as the season progresses. New items will be arriving throughout the season, so be sure to visit the Cougars Den Team Store and online store often.

Highly anticipated items are the Cougars home and road caps, featuring the Cougars' new primary logo and secondary logo. The re-branded identity incorporates popular primary colors of navy blue, tan and bright green into the organization's palette. The primary logo, which serves as an exciting look and departure from the previous mark, depicts an athletic Cougar framed by the Kane County Cougars name and a wood-detailed park ranger-shaped badge. The outdoor landscape is reflected in the tree-lined background and is tied into the Fifth Third Bank Ballpark grounds, which are owned by the Forest Preserve District of Kane County. Game and batting practice ball caps showcase secondary logos that build from the new primary logo, incorporating a rugged Cougars "C" surrounding the bat-wielding Cougar.

Staple items like baseballs, foam fingers, and mini-bats will be back with exciting recent additions like stuffed animals, foam baseballs, and leather baseball bracelets, sure to please all. Also new in 2016 is a Star Wars themed section of t-shirts and baseball caps.

The Cougars Den Team Store will feature items from top apparel brands like Under Armour, Nike, Majestic, Antigua, Cutter Buck, and Holloway, with everything from tees and hoodies to flannel pants and - zip pullovers.

"We're really excited about all the new merchandise, and we're sure the fans will be pleasantly surprised at the quality and variety of products," said store manager, Mike Polchopek.

The Kane County Cougars open their season on Thursday, April 7 against the Clinton LumberKings.
