Columbus Cottonmouths News Release

Columbus-Ga - The Columbus Cottonmouths of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announce the signing of Defensemen, Andy Willigar and Kyle Johnson to return for the team's 20th season.

Andy Willigar is originally from Innisfail in central Alberta, Canada. Before joining the Cottonmouths, Willigar played for the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Last season Willigar contributed 24 points. Head Coach Jerome Bechard "expects Willigar to come in and be one of the top defensemen in the league after having a super breakout last year."

The city of Edmonton in Central Alberta is known for its recreation of historical eras, but more importantly for Defensive player Kyle Johnson. Kyle has played for the Cottonmouths for three seasons, the latest two serving as Team Captain and collectively marking 22 points. He has also shown to be a great defenseman with plus 23 last season. Head Coach Jerome Bechard says Johnson "is the steadiest defenseman in the league, with a very strong presence in his own zone. We, at the Cottonmouths, are excited to have him back."

The Cottonmouths will begin their 20th season on October 23rd at 7:30pm against the Huntsville Havoc. Season tickets, group tickets, and sponsorship opportunities are available now for the upcoming season. To find out how you can be a part of what will be an exciting 20th season, contact the team at 706.571.0086 or visit them online at www.cottonmouths.com.
