Columbus Cottonmouths News Release
The 2012 SPHL-champion Columbus Cottonmouths and TIC Federal Credit Union have partnered with Children's Miracle Network to host 'Skate with the Snakes'. This season the partners are starting off the annual Tip-a-Snake Festivities with a skate at the Ice Rink located next to the Columbus Civic Center for children currently enrolled in CMN.
Children's Miracle Network hospitals treat 17 million children each year for every disease and condition imaginable. The Children's Miracle Network at The Medical Center is one of 170 CMN-affiliated hospitals and in keeping with CMN's mission every dollar raised stays in the community to treat children regardless of affliction or the family's ability to pay.
"As always were proud to be aligned with such an outstanding organization as CMN," head coach Jerome Bechard said. "To be able to continue our support of Tip-a-Snake in conjunction with TIC is a great opportunity to give back to the local community"
To kick off the 2013 Tip-a-Snake event the Cottonmouths and TIC are hosting local CMN kids at the Ice Rink located next to the Columbus Civic Center on Wednesday January 30th from 3:30-5pm. The Skate with a Snake event will feature all members of the Cottonmouths team as they take a break from their playing schedule to help bring a smile to the children's faces.
" Skating is for people of all ages," Captain Sam Bowles said. "To be able to share some time with the CMN kids and provide them an outlet to have a good time is part of what makes my job so much fun."
Tip-a-Snake is set to take place on Feb 12th, 2013 at the Columbus Civic Center with the social hour and silent auction beginning at 6pm and dinner taking place at 7:00pm. For full event details please visit the Cottonmouths website at www.cottonmouths.com.
