Cotton Kings Rob Vessio Suspended for Friday Night\'s Contest

LUBBOCK – Lubbock Cotton Kings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kirk Tomlinson announced today that Central Hockey League has handed down a one game suspension to Kings defenseman Rob Vessio for a slashing penalty that took place against Odessa on Nov. 28.

Vessio will miss the game Friday night in Wichita and the Kings will be forced to play with 16 players. The Kings will have nine forwards, five defenseman and two goaltenders for the contest in Kansas.

The Kings play in Wichita, Friday night before returning to play the floundering Austin Ice Bats in front of a sellout crowd on Saturday. The Kings will try to regain the season series advantage against division leading Amarillo in the Jungle on Sunday. This next weekend will be the second back-to-back-to-back series of the season.

Vessio joins Jim Shepherd(1), Craig Binns(2), and J.F. Labarre(2) who have all been suspended this season.
