
Cory Ward Named Player of the Week

On Tuesday, the WCHA announced their Player of the Week honors. Cory Ward, former Aberdeen Wings captain and current leading scorer for the Bemidji State Beavers was named Player of the Week for his play in a series sweep over Lake Superior State University. Ward had four assists on the weekend including a dish for the game-winning goal on Saturday.
Currently this season, Ward has played in all 24 games for the BSU Beavers. He leads the team in scoring with 20 points and leads the team in goals scored with 12. Ward is also tied for 8th in the WCHA in scoring.
The Bemidji State University Beavers will take on regional rival University of North Dakota this weekend, home on Friday and in Grand Forks on Saturday. The Beavers are 7-11-6 overall. This week, the BSU Beavers also received a commitment from Aberdeen Wings rookie forward #11 TJ Roo (Champlin, MN) following his junior career.
