*NORMAL, Ill.* - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, had tying runs on base in the final two innings but fell short in a 2-1 loss to the Florence Freedom in a battle of first- and second-place teams on Tuesday night at the Corn Crib.

The Freedom opened the scoring right away on back-to-back doubles by Daniel Fraga and Taylor Oldham on the first two at-bats of the contest.
