(AKRON, OHIO) April 1, 2015 - The Akron RubberDucks announced today that 1980's film star Corey Feldman will be making a special guest appearance at Canal Park on May 30 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the hit film, "The Goonies," in which he played the well-known role of "Mouth."

Fans will have an opportunity to meet Feldman during an autograph session and he will be throwing out a ceremonial first pitch before the 6:35 p.m. game against the Erie SeaWolves. Following the game, Feldman will be keeping the excitement going by DJing at the Tiki Bar, located in Canal Park's right field Tiki Terrace. As an added bonus, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a "Truffle Shuffle Bobble Belly" presented by Pepsi.

"We are thrilled to have Corey Feldman out to Canal Park this season," said RubberDucks General Manager Jim Pfander. "Many of our fans, myself included, grew up watching and loving Corey's films, particularly 'The Goonies,' which may be one of the all-time classics."

As a famous child actor, Feldman appeared in more than 100 commercials and 50 TV shows. In addition to his role in "The Goonies," he is most well-known for his acting roles in " Stand by Me," "The Lost Boys," "Gremlins," and " The Burbs." In addition to his acting exploits, he is also the lead singer in the band " Truth Movement."

Feldman will be the first of two celebrity guests visiting Canal Park in 2015. On August 8, as part of "Browns Night," the RubberDucks will host former Cleveland Browns All-Pro defensive lineman Michael Dean Perry. The night of the game there will be a replica jersey auction, a Michael Dean Perry bobblehead giveaway, and Guns N' Roses fireworks.

The Akron RubberDucks begin the 2015 season on Thursday, April 9 against the Binghamton Mets. Opening Night will include a pre-game Main Street Festival from 4:00-6:00 p.m., featuring live music, street performances, and fun for kids. Opening Night is also a famous "Thirsty Thursday" promotion (presented by D.G. Yuengling Brewery), a magnet schedule giveaway (presented by from Repros), and there will be U2 fireworks after the game.

Opening weekend also includes Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees fireworks on Friday, April 10 and an MDS Bat giveaway (first 1,000 kids 10 and under) on Saturday, April 11.

The Akron RubberDucks are the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. The 2015 season will be its 19th since moving to Canal Park and its second as the RubberDucks. Last season, the team attracted 350,704 fans to Canal Park, an average of 5,157 per game. Opening Night is Thursday, April 9 at 6:35 p.m. vs. the Binghamton Mets.
