Reading Fightins Fan Fest to Kick Off 2015 Season

The 2015 season will be kicked off in a big way on Saturday, April 11th with Reading Fightins Fan Fest from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at FirstEnergy Stadium. Throughout the day, Tompkins VIST Bank Plaza will be full of ballpark food, live music, and good times as the Fightins celebrate the 65th season of America's Ballpark with a special one-day festival.

Fightins Fan Fest is highlighted by the first-ever PITCH TO WIN contest. Any fan that purchases tickets will be able to throw a pitch off a mound in front of FirstEnergy Stadium. Any fan that throws a pitch 60'6" in to the target hold will win all their money back from their ticket purchase.

For example, if you purchased a $2,000 group picnic and throw a strike during PITCH to WIN, you win the entire $2,000 back! The same would hold true for fans that purchase four box seats for $40, or any amount of tickets. It's that simple-you hit the target hole, you win all your money back in PITCH TO WIN!

Fan Fest features Blacktop Motorcycle Racing from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. where daredevil bikers from across the United States will compete against each other in fast and furious racing. Following the motorcycle races, the FirstEnergy Stadium Parking Lot will host "Ramunition" Monster Truck Car Crushing starting at 3:00 p.m.

All youth baseball and softball players are invited to Fightins Fan Fest to participate in batting practice on the field at America's Classic Ballpark starting at 2:00 p.m. For the first time ever, any youth baseball or softball players who show up in their uniform will be invited to take live batting practice on the field. Two-time Fightins MVP Mike Spidale will throw live batting practice to the player while the player's image will be broadcast onto the giant FirstEnergy Vision. Also for the kids, the Fightins mascots will greet all kids in the Fightins Team Store from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and there will be free Phunland games from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

During Fan Fest, there will be live music outside the stadium from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., and then Tompkins VIST Bank Plaza will hold Yuengling Party with a Purpose featuring "The Land of OZZ" from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Land of OZZ is the closest thing to Ozzy Osbourne in his prime that you will see or hear anywhere in the world. The band recreates the look and sound of Ozzy-from the outfits to the sound of the band. FirstEnergy Stadium's bars and concession stands will be serving up some stadium favorites from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The event is being run in conjunction with the Harleys & Hemis Tent Event presented by Classic Harley Davidson & Savage 61 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, which runs Thursday, April 9th through Saturday, April 11th and runs 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day. Savage 61 will be selling its wide variety of quality American vehicles and Classic Harley Davidson will be selling its famous motorcycles during the three-day event.

During the Harleys & Hemis Tent Event, anyone that purchases a Harley from Classic Harley Davidson or a vehicle from Savage 61 will also be able to try PITCH TO WIN. Those fans will get five pitches at the target hole, and for every pitch that hits the target hole, they'll win $100 off their purchase price - a savings of up to $500!

Celebrating the 65th Season of Baseball at America's Classic Ballpark, the Fightins kick off their home season on Friday, April 17th at Fightins Opening Night when they host the Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the 2014 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants. The first 3000 adults 15 & over will receive a 65th Season of Baseball at America's Classic Ballpark Fleece Blanket thanks to CJ's Tire and Automotive Services and VF Outlet. One lucky fan will also win a trip for two to Phillies Spring Training 2016 thanks to White Star Tours & Travel Center.
