
Corbin Carroll Selected for 2022 Siriusxm All-Star Futures Game

AMARILLO, Texas - Current Arizona Diamondbacks' top prospect and the No. 3 rated prospect in Minor League Baseball (MLB Pipeline), Corbin Carroll was named to the 2022 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game earlier today. Carroll was the highest-rated prospect announced and one of the four players named to the National League roster with the full rosters for both the National and American Leagues being announced Thursday, July 7 on MLB Network and SiriusXM. The 2022 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game will be held on *Saturday, July 16 at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles. *
Carroll has been one of the best players in Minor League Baseball this season, climbing to MLB Pipeline's No. 3 overall rated prospect after starting the year at No. 19. The outfielder is slashing .313/.430/.643/1.073 in 58 games played during his first full minor league season. The 21-year-old currently ranks top 10 in the Texas League in 10 different offensive categories including triples (1st, 8), total bases (2nd, 146), runs scored (2nd, 62), SLG (3rd, .643), and home runs (T-4th, 16). His season numbers in triples and runs scored are tied for the third-most and 10th in all MiLB respectively despite missing some time after being placed on the Injured List on June 28.
Entering the 2022 season, Carroll, the former No. 16 overall pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks out of Lakeside High School in the Seattle, WA area in 2019 had played just 49 games in his career and hit .316 with 56 hits and four homers in 177 career at-bats. The outfielder played in just seven games with High-A Hillsboro in 2021 after a canceled 2020 MiLB season.
Along with Carroll, the other three National League roster spots that were announced today were Marins right-handed pitcher Eury Pérez (No. 17), Padres outfielder Robert Hassell III (No. 25), and Giants LHP Kyle Harrison (No. 27). The four American League players announced today include former second overall pick, and current Frisco RoughRider Jack Leiter (No. 18), Tampa Bay INF Curtis Mead (No. 62), Angels LHP Ky Bush, and Red Sox OF Ceddanne Rafaela (BOS, NO. 27).
The 2022 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game will be played as a seven-inning showcase with first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. ET/ 6 CT and can be streamed exclusively on Peacock and SiriusXM. Two-time World Series *Champion Mike Scioscia* will manage the National League team with 2007 World Series NL MVP *Jimmy Rollins* leading the American League roster.
