Condors Visit School Career Day

Bakersfield Condors News Release


Upcoming week of May 19th - May 25th:

· Monday, May 19th - Condors Goaltender Kevin St. Pierre will be visiting Stockdale Elementary from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. St. Pierre will be speaking to children about his career in hockey as well as the importance of staying in school. Stockdale Elementary is located at 7801 Kroll Way.

· Monday, May 19th - Condors Director of Group Sales & In-Game Promotions Greg May will be competing in the 15th Annual Golf Invitational held at Seven Oaks Country Club, beginning at noon. Proceeds are to benefit the Girl Scouts Joshua Tree Council. Seven Oaks Country Club is located at 2000 Grand Lakes Avenue.

· Tuesday, May 20th - Cal, the baby Condor, the Condors Slapshot, and Condors staff will be at the Kern Schools Federal Credit Union's Spring Picnic at from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. This year's picnic is being held at Jastro Park, which is located at 2900 Truxtun Avenue.

· Friday, May 23rd - Condors Director of Community Relations John Ayre will be at the 2nd Annual Fairfax School Career Day from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. John will be speaking to 7th and 8th grade students about his experiences of working in professional sports and the importance of education. Fairfax School is located at 1500 South Fairfax Road.

Week in Review:

· Wednesday, May 14th - The Bakersfield Condors took part in the Patriot Elementary School's "Friends of the Library" Matt Christopher Sports Party. The program is designed to encourage children to continue reading during the summer months.

· Thursday, May 15th - Cal, the baby Condor, the Condors Slapshot, and Condors staff were at the Downtown Business Association's Downtown Street Faire.

· Saturday, May 17th - Colonel Claw'd attended the Arthritis Association of Kern County's 12th Annual Aquathon's "Free Kids Hour". The event was a chance for kids to swim and raise money for the Arthritis Association.

· Saturday, May 17th - Cal, the Baby Condor was at the Town and Country Village "Parent Challenge 2003". The event included an activity course in which a parent and their child teamed up and competed for prizes.

Condors Droppings:

· Bakersfield's 2003-2004 season schedule has been announced. The Condors will open the season on Friday, October 17th, 2003 against the Fresno Falcons. Season tickets are now available with packages starting at just $48. Stop by the Condors office at Centennial Garden or call the Condors at 324-PUCK (7825) for more information.

· Don't forget to place your bid for this month's Condors Internet Auction. This month's Internet auction is your chance hit the links with Head Coach Paul Kelly and a Condors player (subject to availability). Proceeds to the benefit the American Red Cross - Kern County Chapter.

· The Condors official retail outlet, the Condors Closet, is now operating on summer hours. It is open Monday through Friday, from 11:00 am until 5:30 pm. The "Spring Sale" is going on, giving a 20% discount on select Condors golf polos, assorted sweatshirts, jerseys and T-shrits. The Condors Closet is located at 1022 Truxtun Avenue, across from Centennial Garden.
