Condors to be in Dunk Tank at Street Fair

Bakersfield Condors News Release


Upcoming week of May 12th - May 18th:

· Wednesday, May 14th - The Bakersfield Condors will be taking part in the Patriot Elementary School's "Friends of the Library", Matt Christopher Sports Party from 3:15 pm - 4:30 pm. Matt Christopher is an author who writes fictional sports books for grades 4th - 6th. The program is designed to encourage children to continue reading during the summer months. Patriot Elementary School is located at 4410 Old Farm Road.

· Thursday, May 15th - Join Cal, the baby Condor, the Condors Slapshot, and Condors staff from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm at the Downtown Business Association's Downtown Street Faire on the corner of 19th street and Chester Avenue. Also, here is your chance to dunk a Condor. Condors players will be joining the American Red Cross - Kern Chapter's dunk tank at the DBA's Downtown Street Faire from 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm.

· Friday, May 16th - Cal, the Baby Condor, Condors staff, and the Condors Slapshot will be at the Palla Elementary School Carnival today from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Palla Elementary School is located at 800 Fairview Road.

· Friday, May 16th - Colonel Claw'd will be at the Thorner Elementary School Carnival from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Thorner Elementary School is located at 5501 Thorner Street.

· Saturday, May 17th - Colonel Claw'd will be attending the Arthritis Association of Kern County's 12th Annual Aguathon's "Free Kids Hour" from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. The event is a chance for kids to swim and raise money for the Arthritis Association. This year's event will be held at the Adaptive Aquatics Center at 1800 Westwind Drive.

· Saturday, May 17th - Cal, the Baby Condor will be at the grand opening of the new YMCA's location 5880 District Boulevard, Suite 13. Cal will appear from 10:00 am - 11:30 am.

· Saturday, May 17th - Cal, the Baby Condor will be at the Town and Country Village "Parent Challenge 2003" from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm. The event includes an activity course in which a parent and their child team up to compete for prizes. Town and Country Village is located at the corner of Gosford Road and Stockdale Highway.

Week in Review:

· Sunday, May 11th - Condors Ticket Sales Manager Jose Rivera, took part in the Annual Mother's Day Festival sponsored by the Spanish Radio Group. The event was held at the Kern County Fairgrounds from 11:00 am - 7:00 pm.

Condors Droppings:

· Bakersfield's 2003-2004 season schedule has been announced! The Condors will open the season on Friday, October 17th 2003 against the Fresno Falcons. Season tickets are now available with packages starting at just $48. Stop by the Condors office at Centennial Garden or call the Condors at 324-PUCK (7825) for more information.

· Don't forget to place your bid for this month's Condors Internet Auction. This month's Internet auction is your chance hit the links with Head Coach Paul Kelly and a Condors player (subject to availability). · The Condors official retail outlet, the Condors Closet, is now operating on summer hours. It is open Monday through Friday, from 11:00 am until 5:30 pm. The "Spring Sale" is going on, giving a 20% discount on select Condors golf polos, assorted sweatshirts, jerseys and T-shrits. The Condors Closet is located at 1022 Truxtun Avenue, across from Centennial Garden.
