Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - F Andrew Ianiero notched three assists but the Las Vegas Wranglers downed the Bakersfield Condors, 7-3, Tuesday night in front of 4,017 fans at Rabobank Arena in downtown Bakersfield.

The Wranglers (32-9-7, 71 points) opened up the scoring with a three-goal first period. RW Peter Ferraro notched his 21st of the season on the power play with a one-timer from the left circle at 10:04. RW Adam Cracknell netted his 22nd of the season at 12:29 and LW Bruce Mulherin picked up his 10th at 17:17. Vegas out-shot the Condors (14-24-9, 37 points) 13-7 in the frame.

Bakersfield rallied in the second, scoring twice in the span of 39 seconds. Condors Captain F Sean Venedam got it started by redirecting a shot by Ianiero at 3:12. LW Evan Kotsopoulos made it 3-2 at 3:51, burying the rebound of a LW Tom Boudreau shot for his fourth of the season.

Vegas regained control of the game in the third period, lighting the lamp four times. Cracknell notched two more in the period to complete the hat trick, while Peter Ferraro notched his second of the night and F Kelly Czuy added his eighth. C Steve Slonina got on the board for Bakersfield with a power play tally, his first goal since joining the Condors three games ago.

Notes: Condors LW Mark Derlago was named the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for last week's nine-point performance (7g-2a). Derlago had back-to-back hat tricks, including a four-goal performance, in games against Victoria, and has climbed into the top five in the league in goal scoring. Both C Steve Slonina and F Eric Sonnenberg spent time as defensemen tonight.

The Condors travel to Salt Lake City this week for a three-game series with the Utah Grizzlies, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Game time is 6:05 (Pacific) for all three matches.

They return home for the Condors Fighting Cancer Hockey-Thon weekend, with games on Saturday, Feb. 23 and Sunday, Feb. 24. On Saturday against Stockton, the first 2,000 kids 12 & under will get a Yutaka Fukufuji Bobblehead Doll, courtesy of ABC23 and Carl's Jr.

On Sunday, the Condors take on the Fresno Falcons, sponsored by Bright House Networks, KUZZ 107.9 and Hudson Custom Construction, for the finale of the 41-hour Hockey-Thon. After the game, everyone in attendance is welcome to hit the ice for a free skate with the Condors.
