Bakersfield Condors News Release
Upcoming week of June 10th - June 16th:
· Monday, June 10th - Join Condors players Jeff Goldie and Jamie Cooke and Condors staff for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Carolina Hurricanes and Detroit Red Wings at Chuy's Mesquite Broiler (2500 New Stine Rd). Game time is 5:00 pm. Detroit leads the best of seven series 2-1.
· Monday, June 10, 2002 - Kern County Library, KGET-TV 17, and the Bakersfield Condors kick off "A Ticket To Read 2002". Students who read a minimum of 10 books during the program will receive two free tickets to an early season Condors game. The program runs from June 10 to July 27. Contact the Kern County Library at 868-0750 or log onto www.kerncountylibrary.org to sign up for the program or for more information.
· Thursday, June 13th - Join Colonel Claw'd and staff at Tehachapi's Kern County Library, for Summer Reading Preschool Storytime.
· Thursday, June 13th - Join Condors players and staff for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Carolina Hurricanes and Detroit Red Wings at John's Incredible Pizza Company (3709 Rosedale Highway). Game time is 5:00 p.m.
· Saturday, June 15th - Cal, the baby Condor, and Condors staff will be at the San Dimas Orthodontic Center "Fun Day" from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. The event is sponsored by KUZZ 107.9 and Dedicated Dental Systems. San Dimas Orthodontic Center is located at 3807 San Dimas Street, suite C.
· Saturday, June 15th - Colonel Claw'd, Condors staff, and the Condors slapshot will be at the Kern County Museum to celebrate Radio Disney's "Shout It Out School Is Out" from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Kern County Museum is located at 3801 Chester Ave.
· Saturday, June 15th - Join Condors players as they judge B-Rock 99's "Best Rock Chick" contest at Club Odyssey in the Double Tree Hotel (3100 Camino Del Rio Ct.). The contest starts at 5:00 p.m.
· Saturday, June 15th - Join Condors players and staff for Game 6 (if necessary) of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Carolina Hurricanes and Detroit Red Wings at Chuy's Mesquite Broiler (2500 New Stine Rd). Game time is 5:00 pm
Week in review, June 3rd - June 9th:
· Saturday, June 8th - Baby Cal, staff, and the Slapshot attended the Westchester Carnival, which was held at St. Paul's Church on 17th & B St. The carnival raised over $4,000 to benefit the church's annual youth trip to Mexico, where 30 children will help build homes for needy families.
Condors Droppings:
· This is the last week to sign up for the 2002 Condors Summer Roller Hockey Camp which runs from June 17 th - June 21st. Camp includes professional instruction from players and coaches, Condors summer camp jersey and a daily lunch. For more information call John Ayre or Deric Voelker at 324-PUCK (7825).
· This month's website auction will feature a golf outing for two (2) with two (2) players, and includes green fees, cart, lunch, and a golf shirt. Log onto www.bakersfieldcondors.com to place your bid. Proceeds go to benefit the American Red Cross -Kern County Chapter.
· Condors 2002-2003 season tickets are now available with packages starting at just $42. Stop by the Condors office at Centennial Garden or call the Condors at 324-PUCK (7825) for more information.
