Condors Host Annual Job Fair and National Anthem Auditions
August 30, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, will host their annual Job Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 15 from 4-6 p.m. as well as a Select-A-Seat Event and National Anthem Auditions on Thursday, Sept. 16 from 3-7 p.m. All three events will take place at Rabobank Arena.
Job Fair - Sept. 15
If you're looking to break into the world of professional sports or perhaps just looking to earn a few extra bucks, the annual Job Fair is a perfect opportunity to do this. The Condors are looking for hard-working, energetic people to fill game-day positions such as Mascot Operations, Program Sales, Promotions Team, Kids Zone, Chuck-A-Puck Sales, Merchandise, Blimp Pilot and more.
This is a great way to get your foot in the door of an exciting industry. Many game day staffers have gone on to working in the Condors front office and with other professional sports teams as well. Our very own Condors President, Matthew Riley's start in professional sports began by working game days for a baseball team, cleaning up the stands and pulling the tarp out for rain delays.
Those interested may fill out an application in the Condors front office (1001 Truxtun Ave.) prior to the Job Fair to expedite the interview process. If you have any Job Fair questions or filled out applications contact Clay Waddel at 324-PUCK (7825) ext. 207.
Select-A-Seat - Sept. 16
The 2010-11 Condors season is approaching and the Condors are giving fans a great opportunity to test out potential seat locations during the Select-A-Seat event on Sept. 16, from 3-7 p.m. The best available seats will be tagged for fans' convenience, and Condors representatives will be on hand to escort fans throughout the arena.
Everyone who purchases a ticket plan at the event will receive an exclusive tour of the locker and training rooms, plus a behind-the-scenes look at Rabobank Arena. If that's not enough, those that do purchase a ticket plan will also receive four free Kern County Fair tickets, gift cards to local restaurants and will be entered to win either a Minnesota Wild or ECHL All-Star game Jersey!
In addition, free hot dogs, popcorn and soda will be provided for all fans attending the event. Any kids making the trip will have the chance to test their hockey skills in the inflatable slapshot booth set up outside the arena.
Anthem Tryouts - Sept. 16
Also taking place on Sept. 16 are auditions for National Anthem singers, from 3-7 p.m. Individual singers and small groups are invited to audition for the chance to perform in front of thousands during the season. Those able to sing the Canadian National Anthem are also encouraged to attend, as they are needed for games against our rivals from Victoria. The vast majority of anthem singers every season attend these tryouts, so if you are interested, it is strongly recommended you schedule a time and attend the tryout. Call Brad Urbani at the front office in advance to sign up for a time slot, at 324-PUCK (7825) ext. 210.
