
Condors Care-A-Van to Bakersfield this Thursday

Tuesday, Aug. 5: Condors D Tyler Scott and mascot Baby Cal will visit the Little Red School House, located at 4601 California Avenue, starting at 9:15 a.m. The Condors will educate the kids about hockey, discuss the importance of sports safety, take pictures with the students, sign autographs and even equip one lucky kid in hockey gear.
Thursday, Aug. 7: Tune in to ABC23's "No Bull Mornings" from 5 to 7 a.m. to catch Crystal Figueroa and Condors mascot Baby Cal on location at the Northwest Goodwill store. Figueroa will be reporting on the Care-A-Van that will take place at the Goodwill store later that day.
Thursday, Aug. 7: After years of traveling around Kern County, the Care-A-Van will make a unique stop right in our own backyard. The Condors will set up shop at the Goodwill store located at 3025 Coffee Road from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Participants can meet Condors F Andrew Ianiero and shoot the puck in the Condors inflatable slapshot while the youngsters can play in the Condors inflatable bounce house, meet Condors mascot Baby Cal and win Condors gear, all while dropping off donations for Goodwill. Those that donate gently used items will receive free admission to a Condors game in October.
Following the first portion of the Care-A-Van, Ianiero and Community Relations Manager Brian Marsh will attend the Kern Kiwanis Club at the Petroleum Club to speak on the Condors summer Care-A-Vans and the team's other philanthropic work, as well as the Condors upcoming season.
Thursday, Aug. 7: Condors F Sean Venedam will join the Fruitvale Avenue Little Red School House (4601 Fruitvale) at 9:15 a.m. for a safety lecture and demonstration. Venedam will talk to the kids about hockey and demonstrate the importance of sports safety by dressing students in hockey gear. He will also take pictures and sign autographs for the children.

Tuesday, Aug. 12: The Condors will hold a Media Roundtable at Tailgaters Sports Grill from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Condors speakers will include Head Coach Marty Raymond and President Matthew Riley. Tailgaters is located at 900 Truxtun Ave # 110. The roundtable is exclusive to members of the media who should RSVP to 324- PUCK (7825).
Wednesday, Aug. 13: Condors Mascot Colonel Claw'd will be the guest reader at Family Story Time at the Southwest Library, located at 8301 Ming Avenue. Starting at 10:30 a.m., the Colonel will act out scenes from a children's book while a member of the front office staff reads the book aloud.
Thursday, Aug. 14: The Bakersfield Condors will be present at the Kern County Museum Fun Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Condors will be located in the Northwest corner of the outside museum. Kids will be able to shot the puck in the Condors inflatable slapshot, meet Condors mascot Baby Cal, win Condors gear on the Condors prize wheel and sign up for the Condors Kids Club, the coolest club in town!
