Winston-Salem Dash News Release
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (MARCH 21, 2013) - All bricks purchased over the last year through the Dash's Commemorative Brick Program will be installed outside the main gates at BB&T Ballpark beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27.
The proceeds for this year's brick sales will be used collectively by the Dash and the program's official charity partner for 2012, the Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem, to expand and improve each organization's community outreach programs.
Approximately 80 new bricks will be installed throughout the morning and afternoon. The Dash sold many of these bricks through their annual Call-A-Thon last fall.
Representatives from the Ronald McDonald house will be available for interviews from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, while Dash team President Geoff Lassiter will be on hand at 12:30 p.m. The brick installation process will last much of the day, and media outlets are welcome to get footage of the process.
Fans who have not yet purchased a brick are not out of luck. The first brick costs $125, while the rate drops to $100 for each additional brick. To purchase a brick or for more information, call the Dash at (336) 714-2287.
About the Dash's Commemorative Brick Program:
More than 210,000 bricks were used in the construction of BB&T Ballpark, but the most important bricks lie just outside its main gates. The Commemorative Brick Program started in 2010 to coincide with the opening of BB&T Ballpark with the goal of letting fans put their own personalized stamp on the Winston-Salem community. Fans may purchase personalized bricks to be installed into the plaza outside the main gates of BB&T Ballpark. Each year at the Dash's annual Coaches Luncheon, the Dash name the charity that will benefit from the program. In 2012, the Dash partnered with the Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem. When fans participate in the Commemorative Brick Program, they are not just investing in a keepsake that will be around for years to come. They are also investing in the community.
