Brazos Valley Bombers News Release
Plano, TX (July 5, 2015) - Sunday night's commanding victory over the Texas Marshals gives the Brazos Valley Bombers their third straight win heading into the All-Star Break. The Bombers scored early and often and completed the sweep of the Marshals by a score of 7-1.
Rightfielder Ben Hollas and Third baseman Garrett Benge had 2 RBI each to lead the way as the primary run-producers for the Bombers on Sunday night. On the mound, Ethan Landon had another strong start for the Bombers, only allowing four hits and one unearned run while striking out four Marshals batters. The Bombers' bullpen was outstanding again with Evan Karre, Blake Kopetsky, and Brandon Pennington all making appearances and not allowing any Marshals to reach base.
After the July 6-8 All-Star Break, the Bombers will begin the home portion of the second-half on July 9 against the Acadiana Cane Cutters. July 9 will be "9 Innings of Winnings," presented by Scoots; with prizes given away every inning as well as a scooter giveaway. July 9 also falls on a Thursday which means Thirsty Thursday: when beer; margaritas; and soft drinks are one dollar, thanks to Western Beverages.
July 10 will be the second game of the two-game series against the Cane Cutters and will be Ladies' Night, presented by Funky Cheveux. Ladies' Night festivities are highlighted by a Diamond Dig, where participants can dig up the infield for a free diamond, thanks to Montelongo's Fine Jewelry. July 10 will also be FANtastic Friday at Cellucor Field.
