COMING UP FOR THE COMETS:

After the All-Star break, the Comets return to action on Saturday, March 6 in Milwaukee. Kickoff at U.S. Cellular Arena is slated for 4 p.m. Watch the game live on KCWE Channel 29 or listen to it on KCKN 1340 AM.

The Comets are 2-2 against the Milwaukee Wave so far this season. After the teams' last meeting in February, the Comets snapped the Wave's four-game winning streak and handed the club its first home loss of the season. The Comets rallied back from three goals down, and Nate Houser scored the game-winning goal that gave the Comets the 6-5 win in overtime. The Comets also won the only meeting in January by a score of 8-6 at Kemper Arena.

Losses came in December (7-4 at Kemper Arena) and in November (15-6 at U.S. Cellular Arena). The teams will meet for the final time on March 12 at Kemper Arena.

Jamar Beasley leads the Comets offensively against the Wave. He has scored four goals and assisted on four others for eight points in four games.

Wave players to watch:

Three Wave players are among the MISL scoring leaders. Greg Howes, who has already scored 12 points in four games against the Comets, is in first place with 39 goals and 21 assists for 61 points. Todd Dusosky and Michael King are also in the hunt. Milwaukee boasts the best defense in the League. The team gives up an average of only 4.4 goals per game.

Final AMC poster give-away! The poster, which has a "2 Fast 2 Furious" theme, features Comets players Jamar Beasley and Anthony Maher along with Galaxy Girls Savannah and Michelle.

THE WEEK THAT WAS:

The Kansas City Comets were represented by four players at the 2004 MISL All-Star Game. Defender Jeff Davis played for the USA All-Star Team that won 10-1 against the International All-Star Team, which had Comets players Vlatko Andonovski, Dino Delevski and Miodrag Djerisilo.

Baltimore Blast forward Giuliano Celenza was awarded the All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Award after he recorded three goals and one assist for four points to lead both teams.

In addition to the All-Star Game, players competed in the All-Star Skills Competition on Saturday. Players competed in the Speed Dribble, Slalom Shootout, Juggling, Shooting Accuracy and Power Shot contests. The Comets were well represented with second place finishes in three out of the five categories (Andonovski in Slalom Shootout, Djerisilo in Speed Dribble and Delevski in Power Shot).

ALL-STAR REPLAY ON METRO SPORTS:

Comets fans still have two chances to catch the 2004 MISL All-Star Game if they missed the action at Family Arena on Sunday. The game will be rebroadcast on Metro Sports at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow, March 4 and at 11 p.m. on Saturday, March 6. Please note the time change for Saturday's replay.

The Comets resumed practice on Monday, March 1 at the Soccer Dome. Please contact Comets Media Manager Beth Kapp to confirm practice times and locations, as they are subject to change.

Dino Delevski (third), Miki Djerisilo (tied for tenth) and Jamar Beasley (tied for 17th) are among league leaders.

Kansas City's offense is in third place in the League with an average of 6.1 goals per game. Defensively, the Comets rank ninth (7.8 goals per game).
