INDEPENDENCE, MO (July 31, 2014) - The Major Arena Soccer League today announced home openers for 21 of the league's 23 teams. The first match in MASL history will take place on Saturday, October 25th with the Dallas Sidekicks hosting the MISL champion Missouri Comets at the Allen Event Center, kicking off the 2014-2015 season. It will be the first meeting between these two teams since the 2003-2004 Major Indoor Soccer League season.

After Dallas, the 2014 PASL and MISL Champions will square off when the Comets visit the Chicago Mustangs on Saturday, November 8th. The Comets' home opener will be Saturday, November 15th against their old rivals, the Milwaukee Wave, at the Independence Events Center. For the first time in 22 years, someone other than Keith Tozer will be coaching the Wave, as former star, Giuliano Oliviero takes over the head coaching duties, with former Wave goalkeeper, Nick Vorberg as his assistant coach.

Throughout the rest of the league, familiar teams are matched up first. Milwaukee will host the St. Louis Ambush first on December 6th and the Baltimore Blast will host Syracuse Silver Knights on November 8th. As members of the MASL's Central Division, the Comets will welcome new foes from Wichita (B52's), Tulsa (Revolution) and Chicago (Mustangs) to the Independence Events Center throughout the season.

"We are excited to play such strong and storied franchises to start the season," said Comets Head Coach, Vlatko Andonovski. "We will definitely be tested early, but we can't wait to get back in front of our fans at the IEC."

The full MASL schedule will be released in September.
