August 30, 2004 - Texas League (TL1)
Round Rock Express News Release
Wednesday, September 1st will be a special day in Round Rock Express history. That night, the Express will play their final regular season home game in the Texas League against the Wichita Wranglers.
To commemorate this historic night, the Express will give the best fans in baseball a special, theatrical fireworks show never seen before at The Dell Diamond. Friday nights in Round Rock have always been marked by the fireworks shows at the end of Express games â but nothing has ever been as spectacular as what fans will see Wednesday.
With the Express in the playoffs, Wednesday won't be the final Texas League game ever. After winning the first half, Round Rock is two games ahead of San Antonio and four ahead of Midland in the chase for the second half title.
Due to this, the final playoff schedule is still to be determined. If the Express win the second half, they will return to action at The Dell Diamond Thursday, September 16th for Game Four of the Texas League Championship Series. If the Express don't win the second half, playoff action in Round Rock will begin with Game One of the Divisional Series on Tuesday, September 7th.
Visit the Express website at www.RoundRockExpress.com to stay informed of all the post-season possibilities.
On top of that, if the Express play in the Championship Series on Friday, September 17th, fans will be treated to a special Friday Fireworks show.
