Columbus' John Sullivan Suspended Two Games by SPHL
January 13, 2012 - SPHL (SPHL) News Release
CHARLOTTE, NC - The SPHL today announced it has suspended Columbus forward John Sullivan two games for an incident in the Cottonmouths' game against Huntsville on Tuesday, January 10.
"In this game, Mr. Sullivan delivered an elbow to the head of a Huntsville player," stated SPHL Vice President Doug Price. "While not penalized, Mr. Sullivan deliberately and unnecessarily raised his elbow so the head was the primary point of contact instead of making a legal body check."
Sullivan sat out Columbus' game against Augusta Wednesday and will also miss the Cottonmouth's game against Huntsville on January 14.
