Columbia Blowfish Fall 8-4 to the Florence RedWolves

COLUMBIA, SC - The Columbia Blowfish (14-20) fall to the Florence RedWolves (24-11) 8-4 at Historical Capitol City Stadium.

Matt Williams (South Carolina) led the offensive charge for the Blowfish going 1-3 with a double and 2 RBIs.

Gene Cone (South Carolina) led the RedWolves in offense as he went 4-5 with a double and 2 RBIs, raising his batting average over 20 points in the process.

The RedWolves took the early lead collecting 2 runs in the top of the 5th before the Blowfish scored 1 run in the bottom half of the inning. The RedWolves would tack on a run in the 6th to give them a 3-1 advantage going into the bottom of the inning when the Blowfish struck back to tie the game at 3 a piece.

The RedWolves would take the out right advantage in the top of the 7th inning scoring 4 runs.

The RedWolves would add another run in the top of the 9th inning, while the Blowfish were only able to add 1 run in the final frame.

JD Crow (Francis Marion) was the other offensive star for the Blowfish going 2-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI.

Will Foreman (TCU) and Dean Wilson(Oral Roberts) each picked up 2 hits in the RedWolves victory.

RedWolves starting pitcher Jordan Peterson (St. Joseph's) would pick up the win going 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 5 hits.

Blowfish pitcher Trevor Hutto (South Carolina-Aiken) gets hit with the loss as he goes 4 innings, allowing 5 earned runs on 7 hits.

The Blowfish next play tomorrow night at home against the Forest City Owls, first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
