San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, Texas---The Colts continued their trend of falling behind in the first inning at home, as they spotted the Rio Grande Valley White Wings a 3-0 lead, but were able to come back and win 15-13 at Foster Field Friday night.

San Angelo scored six runs in its half of the first inning, including home runs from Cory Patton (6) and Daryl Jones (12). The White Wings scored two more in the third on a Gerardo Avila (1) two run blast.

In the fifth, Colts starter Alex Casillas was chased from the game after he allowed three straight homers to David Peralta (7), Leivi Ventura (6) and Avila (2). David Parker followed Casillas on the mound and gave up four more runs to put Rio Grande Valley on top 12-6.

The comfortable lead would not last long when Patton capped off a four-run Colts bottom of the fifth with a bases-loaded double to bring San Angelo within two. Davis Page (4) tied the game at 12 the very next inning with a two-run homer.

In the seventh, the White Wings took a 13-12 lead on a Brandon Decker base hit before Danny Hernandez delivered a two-run double in the eighth that gave the Colts the lead for good. Mickey Cassidy (1-1, 3.91) took the loss in relief for the White Wings, while San Angelo's Francisco Cruceta (1-1, 1.64) picked up the win. Sean Kramer (3) pitched the ninth to earn his third save of the year.
