Colts Swept out of Postseason

Fort Worth, Texas --- Fort Worth Cats' starter Trevor Harden pitched a complete-game shutout to lead his team to a 6-0 win over the Colts in game two of the United League Playoffs. The win completed the sweep for Fort Worth, and ended San Angelo's season.

Harden (1-0) scattered six hits and struck out a game-high eight batters in the win. It was his second complete-game shutout of the year. Harden did it once during the regular season on August 10 against the Abilene Prairie Dogs.

Cats' designated hitter Jon Dziomba drove in the first two runs of the game with an RBI single in the second, and an RBI double in the fourth. Second baseman Antoin Gray had an RBI base hit in the fifth to make it 3-0 Fort Worth.

The Cats knocked Colts' starter Mark Willinsky out of the game with a three-run seventh inning. Gray, right fielder Chuck Caufield and first baseman Jose Ruiz all scored. Willinsky (0-1) gave up five runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings for the loss.

Harden had five perfect innings, including the ninth to clinch the series for the Cats.

The Cats advance to the United League Championship Series, where they will face the Edinburg Roadrunners. San Angelo finished the regular season in fourth place at 51-45.
