San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, TX - The San Angelo Colts, in conjunction with KIDY FOX 19, Lonestar 92.9 FM and Goodfellow Air Force Base, are teaming up in the 1st annual Support Our Troops campaign.
Beginning Sunday, August 1, the Colts will be collecting items for donation near the front gate of Foster Field. The items will then be transferred to Goodfellow Air Force Base to be transported to our troops serving overseas. It is stressed that fans who wish to donate should focus on the following items: books, puzzle books, Reader's Digest, nuts, granola bars, energy bars, beef jerky, single servings of Crystal Light, iced tea, Kool Aid, phone cards, Gold Bond Powder, pens, and Lysol.
Items will be collected at Foster Field through Friday, August 6. However, those who wish to donate afterward may do so at Bodacious Bar-B-Q, Sbarro (Sunset Mall), Emergency Services Center, KIDY FOX 19, Lonestar Country 92.9 FM and MDX 106.1 FM. Collections will last through the end of August. The Colts kick-off an eight-game home-stand tonight, starting with the first of a four-game series against Edinburg. First-pitch is scheduled for 7:05. Tonight will also be the night of the Fan Fly Away presented by Midland International Airport. A lucky fan will win a pair of tickets to Las Vegas, while the runner-up will win a pair of tickets to Denver.
