Barrie Colts News Release
Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Barrie Kempenfelt today announced the details for the Be A "Colt For The Day" charity hockey game that will take place Sunday January 23 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Barrie Molson Centre.
Over 100 children between the ages of 5-10 who purchased tickets will take part in one of three one hour games with and against Barrie Colts players. Kids that participate in the event will also have their photo take with Colts prior to the game, have lunch with the players after the conclusion of their specific scrimmage and obtain player autographs throughout the day.
"Last year's game was a huge success and all of the children that participated had a great time in getting a chance to play with Colts players and spend time with them throughout the day. They had the opportunity to mingle with Colts players on the bench and in the dressing room and got to know them on a personal level," stated Mac Anderson, the President of The Rotary Club of Barrie Kempenfelt. "It has been a pleasure working the Colts on this event and we hope to build on past success."
The Barrie Colts along with The Rotary Club of Barrie Kempenfelt organize the yearly event together, as last year's inaugural game raised upwards of $6 000.00 dollars for Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Barrie.
