Colts Change Field Manager

San Angelo, TX --- July 19, 2004 --- The San Angelo Colts announced today that John Harris has been named Field Manager for the team, replacing Eric Moore and 3rd base coach Ricky Magdaleno.

Harris brings baseball coaching and managerial experience to the Colts. He played collegiately at Lubbock Christian College and professionally for nine years spending three years in the Major Leagues with the Angels. Following his playing career, Harris served as the assistant baseball coach at Texas Tech University from 1986 through 1990. He has managed professional teams in Lafayette, Rio Grande, and Amarillo in the Central Baseball League. In 2003 his Amarillo team lost in the League Championship series to Jackson.

"Our team needed a change of leadership, especially a person with considerable coaching and managerial experience, and John Harris fits that bill. He is a proven baseball man who should provide the Colts with the needed leadership," said Harlan Bruha, Colts General Manager.
