May 16, 2011 - North American League (NAmL)
San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, Texas---Three more hurlers will join the Colts pitching staff for 2011. San Angelo signed right-handers Chandler Barnard and David Parker, along with hard-throwing southpaw Jordan Kendall. Barnard will be a familiar face to Colts fans, as the team's career ERA leader, while Parker and Kendall are both converted position players.

This will be the third season in a Colts uniform for righty Chandler Barnard. The 25-year-old from Lubbock, went 8-3 for San Angelo last season with a team-best 2.99 ERA and three complete games, after he started the season with Shreveport-Bossier City. Overall, in his two seasons with San Angelo, Barnard is a combined 17-7 with a 3.17 ERA in 30 starts. He pitched his first season of professional baseball with Worcester of the Can-Am league in 2008, appearing in 11 games.

Right-handed pitcher David Parker comes to San Angelo as a veteran of six seasons in professional baseball, including four in affiliated ball. Last season, the 28-year-old Parker played for the Northern League's Kansas City T-Bones. In 2009 he played for the rival Coastal Bend Thunder and struck out 39 hitters in 28 innings pitched. Parker broke into pro ball as a middle infielder in the Padres, Brewers and Rockies organizations, before being converted to a pitcher. The Fullerton, California native played his collegiate ball in his home state at Point Loma Nazarene University and Saddleback College.

Jordan Kendall was an 11th round draft pick of the Chicago White Sox as an outfielder in 2007 and was named an Appalachian League All-Star, after hitting .319 in 2008. However, a hand injury sidelined him for the entire 2009 season and last season he signed with the Tijuana Cimarrones of the Golden League, converting to pitcher. With Tijuana in 2010 and the Golden League's Arizona Winter League, the left-hander mesmerized scouts with his 95 mph fastball. The Arizona Diamondbacks invited him to spring training, before he was ultimately cut.
