McAllen Thunder News Release

McAllen, TX - The McAllen Thunder of the North American League announced that they have invited two players to their spring training after open tryouts this past weekend at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

Quinn Bright and Zach Rosetti have been invited to spring training to try and earn a spot on the roster for 2011. In 2010, Bright pitched in eight games for the Washington Wildthings in the Frontier League. Rosetti did not pitch last year due to arm surgery but is healthy heading into spring training.

"The tryout went well, said Thunder Manager Matt Stark, "Out of the 30 or so kids that we got here today, we gave some the opportunity to make our ball club."

With the 2011 season more than a week away, Matt Stark and his coaching staff continue to prepare for McAllen's inaugural season.

Over 30 players from all over the country came in search of a spot on the Thunder roster. Players all the way from Oregon across to Maryland and some from right up the street came with hopes to continue or begin their professional career.

Along with the two invites, the McAllen Thunder begins spring training on Tuesday May 17 in preparation for their season opener in San Angelo on May 25th.

Tickets for their Home Opener on Friday, June 10 are on sale now along with Season Box Seat Tickets and the season long Family Pass. Call (956) 380-6256 for more information.
