Colorado Ice Sign Another 2009 BCS National Champion to Roster

Fort Collins, CO - The Colorado Ice are proud to announce the signing of Tyrone King, defensive back from the University of Alabama, to the Ice Organization.

King is a 5'11", 200 lb defensive back. During his three year career at Alabama, King accumulated 38 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and 1 interception. King played in 38 games during his time at Alabama, primarily starting on special teams until his senior year, where he started at nickel back for the Tide defense.

King worked his way on to the Alabama roster by earning a scholarship during his junior year for his performance in games and on the practice field. King's interception came in the 2009 National Championship Game in which Alabama beat Texas.

Before Alabama, King attended Grambling State, where he started in 7 out of 8 games playing as a true freshman. At Grambling State, King had 15 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 2 interceptions.

King will join former Alabama teammates, Eryk Anders (LB) and Brandon Fanney (DE), when the Indoor Football League season starts in February.

The Colorado Ice are proud members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). All home games are played at the Budweiser Events Center located in Loveland, Colorado. The 2011 season kicks off in February.
