Colorado Ice at Wyoming Cavalry Game Preview
April 4, 2012 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Colorado Crush News Release
Fort Collins, CO-The Colorado Ice Professional Indoor Football team will head to Casper, Wyoming to take on the Wyoming Cavalry on April 6 th, 2012.
This game will mark the second of four times that the Ice and Cavalry will face off in the 2012 regular season. Previously, in the Ice's first home game, they beat the Cavalry in record setting style 72-36. The huge win broke the Ice's record for most points scored in a home game.
The Ice, now 3-2, have since grown as a team and will look to play to their strengths against the Cavalry.
Against the Everett Raptors last week, the Ice won 49-36 but not without a fight from the Raptors. While the Ice shook off the bye week rust they managed to hold the Raptors to a somewhat even score the entire game. The Ice, as anticipated pulled together and clinched the win.
The Wyoming Cavalry (1-4) recently went up against the Tri-Cities Fever. The Cavalry fell to the Fever 62-41 after a hard fought battle. The Ice's defense will be crucial in this matchup as the Cavalry are only averaging 9 less points per game than the Ice. Last week's Runza Player of the week, Prince Hall (#40), put up 9 total tackles against the Raptors, something he will strive for when taking on the Cavalry's offense.
The Ice's offense led by QB David Knighton should be able to increase their yards per game percentage as the Cavalry are giving up an average of 281 yards per game. Look for rookie kicker, Aric Goodman (#9) to once again add to the Ice's score.
Kickoff is slated for 7:05 p.m. For fans who can't make the trip and wish to view the game, visit www.thecoloradoice.com and click on America One to watch the game, 1310 KFKA AM to listen to the game or stream live stats at www.poinstreak.com .
