Colorado Eagles News Release
FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles of the ECHL and Clear Channel Media & Entertainment of Northern Colorado announced today that they've teamed up to help raise funds for the victims of the devastating High Park Fire, the largest in Larimer County history. In fewer than three days, the fire -- which is located just northwest of Ft. Collins -- has burned over 40,000 acres of land, over 100 buildings and resulted in one documented death.
The Eagles have made an initial donation of $5,000 to the American Red Cross, and will match up to $5,000 more from donations made Thursday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at a donation tent set up on the southwest corner of College Ave. & Prospect Rd., which will be manned by representatives of both the Eagles and Clear Channel. Those who would like to help are encouraged to stop by and donate via cash, check or credit card to aid in the relief effort.
"We've seen time and time again how Northern Colorado residents will help their neighbors in need, and we'd like to help spearhead the effort and encourage them to do it once more as this fire continues to rage through our backyard," said Chris Stewart, the Eagles' president & general manager.
For Eagles fans who live outside the area, or may be unable to make it to Ft. Collins to donate, the team has come up with another way for you to help. With Father's Day this Sunday, the team will be holding a sale thru its online merchandise store (www.coloradoeaglesgear.com), in which all proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross. The sale will run thru Sunday night, and will offer free shipping on purchases over $50, plus 20% off of select items that fathers everywhere are sure to love.
