Colorado Crush News Release

DENVER - The Colorado Crush of the Arena Football League added another veteran wide receiver-defensive back to its roster, signing free agent Willis Marshall, who caught 190 passes for 2,317 yards in three seasons with the AFL's Grand Rapids Rampage.

Terms of Marshall's contract were not disclosed.

Marshall, 5-foot-9 and 197 pounds, caught 75 passes for 904 yards and 15 touchdowns last season. IN 2002 he caught 80 passes for 15 touchdowns.

A two-way player, Marshall recorded 68 tackles, with 30 assists, two fumble recoveries and one interception in his three seasons with Grand Rapids. He also returned kicks for the Rampage, returning 84 for 1,759 yards and three touchdowns in his three seasons.

"I think Willis Marshall has been a proven great player in our league and we're excited to have him on our team," Crush head coach Mike Dailey said. "He's one of those guys you describe as a true football player, with that great competitive spirit.

"He's been a thorn in my side for a few years now, so it's great to finally have him on our side."

Marshall is the 11th free agent player to agree to terms with the Crush since the AFL's free agent signing period began on Oct. 15. Previously announced were: quarterbacks Jose Davis and Jay McDonagh, fullback-linebacker Rich Young, two-way linemen Hugh Hunter and Pat Downey, defensive specialist Rashad Floyd, wide receivers Darcey Levy, Robert Redd and Margin Hooks and kicker Anthony Brenner.
