GREENVILLE _ Roman Colon pitched six hitless innings Saturday night, leading the Greenville Braves to a 2-0 Southern League victory over the Tennessee Smokies.

Colon (2-0) allowed two baserunners - a third-inning walk and a fifth-inning hit batsman _ as he lowered his earned-run average to 0.52. The 23-year-old right-hander from the Dominican Republic has allowed one run in 17 innings this season.

Left-hander Ray Aguilar pitched three scoreless innings to earn his first save, helping the G-Braves prevail in a pitching duel against the Smokies' Juan Pena (0-2), who yielded three hits and two runs in six innings.

Greenville, 8-7 overall and 8-1 when it scores first, took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when on an RB single by Lee Evans. A bases-loaded walk to Ryan Langerhans pushed across a run in the fourth.

Tennessee (8-7) The The teams play a 1:15 p.m. game Sunday afternoon, when Greenville sends Matt Belise (1-2) to the mound against the Smokies' Rhett Parrott (1-1), and conclude the series with a 7:15 p.m. game Monday. The Carolina Mudcats arrive Tuesday for the first of four games.
