Colonials Trump Worcester 7-1, Sweep Series

Pittsfield, MA - The Pittsfield Colonials swept the Worcester Tornadoes in a four game series, winning the finale 7-1 at Wahconah Park in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on Sunday afternoon.

Colonials' starter Miguel Flores (4-3) won his second consecutive decision going six shut-out innings while striking-out five batters.

Pittsfield third baseman Jason Taylor (1-for-2, HR, 2 RBI) hit a home run in his second consecutive game and drove in a pair for the winners. Right fielder Wes Fink (1-for-4, 3B, 2 RBI) added a two-run triple while teammate Donny Leon (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI) chipped in with a two-run double for Pittsfield.

Tornadoes' starting pitcher Zach Zuercher (0-2) took the loss over five innings of work allowing all seven runs on eight hits.

The Colonials get set for a three game series with the Quebec Capitales at Wahconah Park beginning on Monday evening at 7:05pm.
