Hartford Colonials News Release

Hartford Colonials Head Coach and General Manager Chris Palmer announced the team captains for the 2010 United Football League season following Monday's practice.

Quarterback Josh McCown, and linebackers Tank Daniels and Frantz Joseph were selected as captains to lead the Colonials as the team begins its first season in Connecticut on Saturday, Sept. 18, against Sacramento at Rentschler Field. Kickoff is at 2:30 pm.

"Our team today selected three captains that represent the Colonials in a positive fashion both on and off the field," Coach Palmer said. "I'm excited for all three and look forward to working with them for the rest of the season."

McCown, 31, signed with the Colonials after spending the past eight years in the NFL with the Cardinals, Lions, Raiders, Dolphins and Panthers. He has 35 career touchdown passes and has thrown for 6,584 yards.

Daniels, 28, has played for the Eagles, Giants and Jaguars since making his NFL debut with Philadelphia in 2006. In 2007 he earned a Super Bowl ring with the Giants after appearing in four regular season games and all four postseason games that season, including a 17-14 victory over the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.

Joseph, 24, was in Raiders training camp last year after signing with Oakland as a free agent. He also spent part of 2009 with Edmonton of the Canadian Football League. Joseph played college football at Florida Atlantic after transferring from Boston College.
