Colonel Claw'd and Baby Cal Support New Roller Hockey Rink at Saunders Park This Weekend

This Week In Condorstown:

Thursday, May 10th: Condors mascot Colonel Claw'd will attend Standard Elementary's end-of-year Renaissance Carnival from 6-8 p.m. to mingle with students as they celebrate a great academic year. Standard Elementary is located at 115 E Minner Ave. and welcomes the community to help close out the school year.

Saturday, May 12th: Condors mascots Colonel Claw'd and Baby Cal will attend a kick-off event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to update the community on the new fully functional roller hockey rink to open within the next year at Saunders Park, located west of Oak St. on Palm Ave. The LA Kings Chariot will be in attendance to provide a roller rink for kids to enjoy and special guest speakers will be present to encourage donations and answer questions.

Week In Review:

Saturday, May 5th: Condors mascot Colonel Claw'd mingled with participants at Relay for Life, an annual event held at CSUB in support of those affected by cancer. This year's event kicked off Saturday morning with 1,400 cancer survivors walking the track and raised a record- breaking total of $1,555,483 for the American Cancer Society, beating last year's proceeds of 1.4 million.

Monday, May 14th: Condors mascot Colonel Claw'd and Community Relations Manager Jill Watts will attend Voorhies Elementary's "Drug Free Week" Celebration at 8:45 a.m. Colonel Claw'd will rally with students to help kick-off their week of emphasizing the importance of saying "no" to drug and alcohol abuse.

Thursday, May 17th: Watts will be a Celebrity Reader at Buena Vista Elementary at 8:45 a.m.

Thursday, May 17th: The Condors will take part in the Downtown Business Association's Street Fair starting at 6:30 p.m. This year's event focuses on emergency medical services and will feature a Street Fair bike race. Log onto www.bakersfield dba.net for more information.
