Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, member of the American Hockey League, announced that the Boston Bruins have reassigned rookie left wing Chris Collins to the P-Bruins from the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the ECHL. Providence has also released fellow left wing Ross Carlson from his Amateur Tryout Agreement. The P-Bruins' roster remains at 26 players, including 14 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders.

Collins, 22, an undrafted signing by Boston last summer, has been called up to Providence twice this season by scoring two goals in 16 games. For Long Beach, the forward finished the year with 37 points on 18 goals, four in his last two games, and 19 assists in 51 contests, while also recording five point-streaks of three games or longer. The four-year product of the Boston College Eagles tallied 122 points (63g, 59a) in 162 collegiate outings prior to this year, including 34 goals in his senior season. Collins, a native of Fairport, New York, was also named one of three finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, along with being named the Hockey East's Player of the Year, a member of the All-Star First Team and a NCAA East All-American.

Carlson, 25, signed his ATO with Providence on March 23, since playing in four games while tallying his first professional point, an assist, April 7 on the road against the Lowell Devils. The forward, from Duluth, Minnesota, is in his first professional season after a four-year career with the University of Wisconsin Badgers, where he netted 92 points (34g, 58a) in 133 career games. Carlson had a career high 12 goals and 29 points in his sophomore season.

Providence concludes the regular season this weekend with a pair of road games Friday, April 13 at the DCU Center against the Worcester Sharks and the following night versus the Springfield Falcons at the MassMutual Center. The P-Bruins' final home game of the regular season is Sunday, April 15 against the Manchester Monarchs, a free team poster giveaway day to the first 4,000 fans in attendance.
