Coleman Recalled by Chicago; Harris to Join Iowa

The Chicago Cubs recalled RHP Casey Coleman and designated OF Brad Snyder for assignment in roster moves announced this afternoon by Chicago. In a corresponding move, RHP Ty'Relle Harris will join Iowa from Double-A Tennessee and will be available tonight out of the bullpen. Harris will be making his Triple-A debut with Iowa, making it to this level for the first time in his third professional season. He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Braves out of University of Tennessee in the 19th round of the 2009 June draft. Harris was one of three minor-league pitchers traded to the Cubs in a deal that sent Derrek Lee to the Braves last season. In 17 relief appearances with the Smokies this year, Harris was 1-0 with a 2.10 ERA in 34.1 innings.
This will be Coleman's third stint with Chicago and second this year. Coleman was called up to Chicago prior to Iowa's opening day when Randy Wells and Andrew Cashner landed on the disabled list after both suffered from injuries following their first starts of the season for the Cubs. In nine games (eight starts) with the Cubs, Coleman was 2-4 with a 7.25 ERA in 36.0 innings. The right-hander was optioned back to Iowa on May 28 and made two starts for Iowa. In those two games, Coleman was 1-0 with a 2.31 ERA. He allowed only four hits and four runs (three earned) over 11.2 innings.
