PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Thorns FC midfielder Sam Coffey, defender Becky Sauerbrunn and forward Sophia Smith have been named to the 23-player U.S. Women's National Team roster for two September friendly matches against Nigeria, while Thorns FC midfielder Crystal Dunn will join camp for training as she continues to return to fitness but will not feature in the matches.

She was later added to the roster for the tournament, replacing injured forward Ashley Hatch. Coffey has not earned a cap with the national team. Sauerbrunn (207 caps) started four of the five matches for the USWNT during the Concacaf Championship. Smith (21 caps), who leads the USWNT in goals with seven this calendar year, started all five matches in the tournament for the United States.
In this FIFA window, the USWNT will square off against Nigeria on Sept. 3 at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan.; kickoff is set for 10:30 a.m. (Pacific) on FOX. The two teams will then meet again for a second time on Sept. 6 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. at 3 p.m. (Pacific) with a national broadcast on ESPN2.
