Cody Milligan, Tanner Gordon Named Farm Bureau Player & Pitcher of the Week

PEARL, MS - The Mississippi Braves and Farm Bureau are excited to announce that outfielder Cody Milligan and starting pitcher Tanner Gordon have been named the Farm Bureau Player and Pitcher of the Week.

Milligan, 23, recorded 11 hits, four doubles, three walks, five runs and two RBI in six games in the leadoff spot against Tennessee. He hit in every game, picking up two or more hits in four of six games.

Milligan is splitting time between center field and second base since being promoted to Mississippi from High-A Rome on June 21. He is batting .280 with seven extra-base hits, 14 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 44 games for the M-Braves.

Atlanta drafted Milligan in the ninth round of the 2019 MLB First-Year Player Draft from Cowley Community College. He is originally from Binger, Oklahoma.

Gordon, 24, pitched seven innings in the M-Braves 10-3 win over Tennessee on Wednesday, tying a career high in just 75 pitches. The right-hander picked up the win to improve to 6-4 with the M-Braves.

Gordon has a 6.22 ERA and 66 strikeouts in 72 1/3 innings in Double-A this season.

Atlanta drafted Gordon in the sixth round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft from Indiana University. He is originally from Champaign, IL.

The club returns to action with a six-game home series against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos starting tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. CT.
