Cobras Sign Veteran Lineman Sean Tremblay

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Carolina Cobras have agreed to contract terms with Arena Football League veteran lineman Sean Tremblay as well as former NFL kick return specialist Lenzie Jackson and quarterback Charlie Peterson.

Tremblay (6-2, 300, Connecticut) spent the previous three seasons with the New York Dragons under the direction of current Cobras assistant head coach and offensive coordinator John Gregory. Known for his pass blocking ability, he also posted 28 tackles and two sacks on defense in 59 games over six seasons. Along with veteran linemen Otis Moore and Robert Stewart, Tremblay will provide experience to a group of linemen that includes eight first-year AFL players. The New York native currently works as a teacher and football coach at his alma mater, Comsewogue High School.

Jackson (6-0, 190, Arizona State) enters his first season in the AFL after spending three seasons with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers. Used primarily on special teams, he returned 18 kickoffs for 351 yards (19.5 yards per return) in 21 career contests. Jackson originally signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 1999 after recording 138 receptions for 1,887 yards and 15 touchdowns over his four-year career with the Sun Devils.

Peterson (6-2, 220, BYU) makes the move to the AFL after passing for 138 touchdowns in the past two seasons with the Peoria Pirates and Pensacola Barracudas of arenafootball2. Last season, he completed 249 of 438 passes for 3,387 yards and 74 touchdowns for the Pirates, including 45 to current Cobra Jack Walker. Peterson becomes the fourth quarterback on the Cobras roster, joining Rickey Foggie, Matt Nagy and Caleb Slover.

The Cobras kick off the 2004 season on Sunday, February 8 on the road against the Dallas Desperados. Carolina will open their home schedule on Saturday, February 21 versus the Arizona Rattlers.
