Carolina Cobras News Release
CHARLOTTE Â The Carolina Cobras announced today that they have activated WR/DB Ben Bronson, WR/LB Van Johnson and OL/DL Jim Stiebel from injured reserve. To make room on the active roster, the team placed WR/DB Buddy Crutchfield on injured reserve and waived OL/DL Kyle Benn and DS Adrian Jones.
Bronson played in four of Carolina's first five games before being placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. He had 25 receptions for 202 yards and 19 kickoff returns for 314 yards before suffering the injury at Grand Rapids on February 28.
Johnson has seen action in three games this season after signing with the Cobras on February 17. He had 12 catches for 139 yards and three touchdowns before suffering a wrist injury and missing the past three weeks.
Stiebel started at center in each of the Cobras first four games. He suffered a torn calf muscle on February 21 against Orlando and has been on injured reserve since then.
Crutchfield, who was just activated from injured reserve last week, goes back on injured reserve after suffering a quadriceps contusion last week against Tampa Bay. He had previously been on injured reserve with a knee injury suffered on February 14 against Detroit.
The Cobras will look to break into the win column when they face the Georgia Force at the Charlotte Coliseum at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Country music sensation Ricochet will be on hand to sing the National Anthem and perform a postgame concert. In addition, the first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive Snake Charmers posters and Cobras rally towels.
The Cobras will donate $1 for each ticket sold for the game to the American Red Cross Phone Card Program. Fans making a $10 donation to the Phone Card Program will receive a free car wash from Autobell Car Wash, a free sandwich from Chick-Fil-A and a two-for-one ticket offer for the Cobras next home game against the Chicago Rush.
Tickets for all home games can be purchased at the Charlotte Coliseum box office, at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 704-522-6500.
