May 28, 2010 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Bismarck Bobcats News Release

BISMARCK, ND - With the 2010 NAHL Entry Draft now two daysin the rear view mirror, Bismarck Bobcats head coach Layne Sedevie has had achance to catch his breath and look back on the selections that will help theBobcats defend their 2010 Robertson Cup Championship.

BismarckBobcats.com was able to catch up with Coach Sedevieand get his thoughts on all sixteen players selected Wednesday in the draft:

Nick Romanick, D,Fargo Force (USHL)

LS: "Nick was our top target all along. He's very physicaland has a great first pass coming out of the defensive zone. Nick is a big boyat 6'3" and 212 pounds and the real bonus with him that even with his size heskates extremely well. We expect himto step in and be a big part of our back end from day one."

Charlie Mosey, F,Burnsville High School (MN)

LS: "Charlie is a player who caught our eye at our PriorLake Pre-Draft Camp with his size and skating ability. Every time he took theice in Prior Lake, he got our attention with strong positioning and play.Charlie piled up a lot of points in Minnesota high school and we know he'll bea big piece up front for us going forward."

Trevor Landgraf,F, Gilmour Academy (OH)

LS: "Trevor is fun player to watch; he's only 5'8" and 160pounds but at our Denver Pre-Draft Camp he hit everything that moved, finishedevery check, had two black eyes and was hungry for more. I don't know if I'veever seen a harder worker than Trevor and if his work ethic carries over topractice and conditioning, he will be one of the toughest guys to play againstin the NAHL. We were very excited to get him in the third round."

Zach Badalamenti,F, Little Caesar's AAA (MWEHL)

LS: "Zach is a high-skill player whose linemate, MattDeBoew, was drafted into the USHL and I feel that Zach is just as good. Theremight be a little bit of growing pains with him being a '93 birth year, but wesee a world of potential there, too. Even at his age, though, we see him beinga top-flight guy this year."

Tyler Richter, F,Bismarck Bobcats (NAHL)

LS: "Waiting for our pick to come up in Round Five was alittle nerve-wracking for me, because we knew we wanted Tyler badly but we alsoknew that teams like Alexandria and Coulee Region were hot after him, as well.Tyler showed his commitment to Bobcat Hockey by sticking with us all season, even when he wasn't officially on our roster, so we definitely wanted to rewardhim by taking him in the draft. He dominated at our Prior Lake camp and he'salso got a leg up, conditioning-wise, having worked with Mike Salwei atHealthways all through the 2009-2010 season."

Jacob McDowell, F,Capital Centre Pride (NAPHL)

LS: "Every recommendation we've gotten about Jacob is thathe really, really good. We're losing a lot of firepower up front and we expectJacob to be one of the guys to provide some power from the forward position. He's got good size, but more importantly he's got a nice scoring touch andwe'll be looking to him to be a big goal-scorer for us."

Dan Zawacki, F,North Bay Trappers (NOJHL)

LS: "We got a chance to get a good look at Dan at our Denvercamp and he's got high-end skill with the potential to be an absolute stud atforward for us. He skates very well, competes hard and is just an all-aroundgood kid. With him being a '91 birth year, there's a good chance he'll be a bigpiece both now and even next season."

Taylor Portner, F,Andover High School (MN)

LS: "Taylor skates very well, competes hard, has great icevision and makes good decisions with the puck. We saw him in Prior Lake and heplayed very well with Charlie Mosey, which gives us a kind of instant chemistryfrom day one with two important forwards. We are really excited to be able toget Taylor in the eighth round and team those two up in black and gold."

Jeremy O'Keefe, D,Grand Forks Central High School (ND)

LS: "Jeremy doesn't stand out, but in the best way possible;the things he does with and without the puck are just impressive. We saw himfor three days in Prior Lake and I don't think he put himself into a badsituation once. A lot of defensemen will try and be that Sam Rendle or BenDanford offensive defenseman but every 'D' corps needs guys like Jeremy thatstay at home and make the good first pass and do the little things to be solidin their own end."

Danny Harper, G,Blaine High School (MN)

LS: "Danny is a goalie whose results speak for themselves:in net for three sectional championships and three state tournament appearancesfor a great program in Blaine. His high school coach paid him a great complimentby saying his departure would be a great loss to the program. We look forwardto Danny being a nice complement to Ryan Faragher in net and giving us yetanother power tandem of goalies in 2010-2011."

Frank DeAugustine,F, Indiana Ice (USHL)

LS: "Frank's talents are obvious, being a two-year USHLveteran- including being a part of Indiana's Clark Cup run in 2009. He's aformer linemate of Dominic Panetta at Culver Academy, and if we can manage tokeep both of those guys from the USHL, we are looking at a formidable 1-2 punchthat would immediately give us the top line in the NAHL in 2010-2011.

Tommy Rizzardo, D,Trail Smoke Eaters (BCHL)

LS: "Tommy is a guy who our staff has been trying to landfor a couple seasons now. Between [head scout] Aaron Kinslow and [former headcoach] Byron Pool, he couldn't come more highly recommended as a tough,stay-at-home defenseman. He's a strong player coming from a good league and ourteam's track record of both winning and moving players onto the Division Ilevel were a big draw to finally get Tommy to Bismarck."

Chris Lochner, F,Villanova Knights (OJHL)

LS: "Chris is a scoring machine- last year in the OJHL he hadnearly 100 points and I'm already expecting him to be one of our go-to guys tocarry a lot of weight for this coming season. He's extremely high-skilled andhas proven his ability to be a scorer in a solid league."

Kyle Lysaght, F,Oakville Blades (OJHL)

LS: "Kyle is another high scorer, just like Chris Lochner. In fact, Kyle and Chris both come from Georgia and grew up playing together, sowe have another instance of instant chemistry with two of our drafted forwardsbetween Kyle and Chris. Kyle is a hard-working, high-skill player who will bean immediate contributor on our roster."

Mike Boese, D,Dauphin Kings (MJHL)

LS: "Mike is another guy that our organization- specificallyByron Pool- has been after for a couple of years. He's a former teammate in FortFrances (ONT) of Ryan Faragher and from what we've seen of him, he's a gooddefender and he will be a great addition to our blue line."

Nick Miglio, F,Russell Stover AAA (MWEHL)

LS: "Nick's biggest asset is his tireless work ethic.Because he's such a hard worker, he'll do anything you ask him, which makes himvery teachable. He's a little raw, but we know that there's also a lot of skillthere, too. We've found that he's a great character guy, so we're reallylooking forward to working with him and making him a big part of our lineupthis year."

The Bobcats' busy offseason continues on June 18-20 as theteam hosts its east-coast tryout at the Sports Centre at MCC in Rochester, NY.
