Green Bay Blizzard News Release

Green Bay, WI – Head Coach Brian Noble announced his choice for offensive coordinator, Rod Miller. Coach Miller will be taking over the reigns of the Blizzard offense after serving as the Blizzard's defensive coordinator in 2003. He brings a wealth of arena football knowledge on the offensive side of the ball, an attribute that Coach Noble was looking for when he was interviewing perspective applicants for the vacant position.

Coach Miller came to Green Bay from the now defunct af2 Carolina Rhinos where he was the Head Coach in 2002 and Offensive Coordinator from 2000 to 2001. With the indoor and outdoor seasons taking place at different times of the year, Miller coached the defensive backs and receivers at Kentucky State where he had 3 All-Conference receivers, also in 2000. In 1999, Miller coached in the IFL with current Blizzard defensive coordinator, James Kerwin, with the Lincoln Lightning and at Tyler Junior College in Texas where he coached current Packer receiver Robert Ferguson.

From 1997 to 1998 Miller coached at the High School level at Brownell-Talbot High School where they play 8 man football. The offense was one of the top rated in 8 man football. Miller's coaching career began in 1993, with North Omaha Bears helping lead them to the National Title in 1997.

Miller played college football at Drake University, from 1988-1993, where he was a three time letter winner at the receiver position and majoring in Criminal Justice.

Following Drake University, Miller was a team leader at Cooper Village Boys Home from 1996-1999 and a unit case worker at Omaha Correctional Center from 1993-1996.

Coach Miller is currently on the recruiting trail looking to add quality players to the Blizzard roster when training camp opens March 17th.

The af2 has also assigned FB/LB Bryan Archibald to the Blizzard roster. Archibald previously played for the Peoria Pirates of the af2.

On Tuesday, the Blizzard re-assigned 8 players from last year's roster. Included in that list is: QB Ryan Aulenbacher, OL/DL Brandon Williams, OL/DL Kevin Washington, OL/DL Scott Tyrcha, OL/DL La Price Reynolds, OL/DL Mike Love, OL/DL John Gilles, and WR/DB Brandon Munson.
