Tulsa Talons News Release

The Tulsa Talons have hired Ken Matous (pronounced MAY-tosh) as their new head coach, owner/operator Jeff Lund announced today.

Matous comes to Tulsa after spending the 2002 season as offensive coordinator at Western Carolina University, and 2001 as an assistant coach with the Carolina Cobras of the Arena Football League. Matous, who brings 23 years of educating, coaching and recruiting experience to Tulsa, replaces Skip Foster, who moved up to coach the AFL's Austin Wranglers.

"We're real pleased to have coach Matous," Lund said. "His coaching style mirrors that of our old coach Skip Foster, and that's something we wanted to make sure we had when we were filling the position. We're really excited to have him aboard."

"I'm excited about the opportunity to be back in Arena Football," Matous said. "It's the most exciting game I've ever seen. I knew from the day I left (Carolina), that I'd be back in it."

Season tickets for the 2004 season are now on sale, starting at just $66! Call 918-664-4453 for more information, or log on to the Tulsa Talons website at www.tulsatalons.com.
